Anyone interested in spoken British English could possibly find the following book of interest: 'English Accents and Dialects: An Introduction to Social and Regional Varieties of English in the British Isles' (2005, Arthur Hughes, Peter Trudgill and Dominic Watt, Hodder Education).

It is also distributed in the United States by Oxford University Press.

The book is intended for both native speakers and learners and comes with a CD.
